Collection Methodologies
We protect account credentials by implementing strict face-to-face verification processes:
- Direct Sourcing: Collected face-to-face during account setups or loan reviews.
- Secure Infrastructure: Digitally captured through official tablet interfaces handled exclusively by internal staff.
- No Third Parties: We do not utilize independent third-party brokers or external agents to collect data.
Biometric Consent: Your Fingerprint is Your Signature
Mama Bank utilizes biometric fingerprint verification to protect account access. No withdrawal, payment transaction, or account change can take place on your profile without your active physical fingerprint authentication at our terminals or Access Points.
Data Security & Storage Charter
- Centralized Processing: All encrypted information collected via tablets is pushed instantly to our secure core servers. No client files or biometric details are stored locally on individual tablets.
- Confidentiality Mandates: Under the Banks and Financial Institutions Act 2000, your financial metrics are kept strictly confidential. We do not rent, trade, or sell information to commercial marketing entities.
- Regulatory Releases: Information will only be disclosed to comply with national anti-money laundering laws or formal requests from the Bank of Papua New Guinea (BPNG).
Your Rights & Statutory Responsibilities
- Mandatory Offline Updates: To update your mobile number or address record, you must present valid ID in person at an official Access Point. For identity security reasons, data modifications cannot be processed online.
- Statutory Dormancy Rules: Under national banking laws, accounts left completely inactive for seven (7) consecutive years will be closed. Remaining balances must be legally remitted to the Department of Finance.
